I picked this article because it has a lot of information not only on what music therapists do but also why and how the practice works. The real life examples of situations were also very interesting.
I really enjoyed reading this article. A lot of the time people overlook the powers of music, and I have even heard from some that it is a waste of time. To see music put into a practice like this is truly amazing. Even though music therapy is quite new, it has already proven to be effective and has bettered the lives of others.
ReplyDeleteI also really enjoyed this article! Music Therapy is such a fascinating concept. I was going to point out the same quote as Natalia. This definitely emphasizes the universality of music as a language. The power of music is undeniable and I love it. I can't wait for you to continue with your music therapy career Kevin :)

ReplyDeleteI think this is super cool! Music Therapy is something I am also (possibly) interested in and so a real-life look into experiences that music therapists have is very interesting. I like that this article talks about the real affects that music has on both the brain and the body, namely the calming effects it has. (I also like that they talk about how the same area of the brain that responds to food reacts to music.)

ReplyDeleteMusic Therapy is very interesting! This article particularly was very enjoyable to read. Music therapy is slowly but surely becoming popular and I'm excited for it's growth. The power that music has is huge and it has been proven by these wonderful Boston music therapists.
