Wow, that is really interesting. I think this kind of issue is definitely a struggle of 21st century musicians because of the necessity of an online presence. It is a challenge to balance wanting to have a personal connection with your audience and show who you really are, while also not possibly going to far and upsetting people.

I think that a lot of following nowadays in music is guided by how performers present themselves. If someone is highly followed on social media and they post something that not a lot of people agree with, they are obviously going to stir up controversy and lose and maybe even gain some followers.It is impossible to please everyone through social media, but one thing that can be done to prevent large controversy is to think before you post something.
